HEALING WORKSHOP by Neha Deshmukh + Ishita Mili

This two-hour workshop is an introduction to holistic healing through movement, combining both psychotherapeutic group processing with dance exercises (accessible to all levels, regardless of previous experience) in order to support an increased sense of wholeness and grounding in the body and an alignment with the self. Instructors Neha Deshmukh, a licensed clinical psychotherapist, and Ishita Mili, artistic director and choreographer of IMGE Dance, will lead participants through a series of activities including reflective prompts, group shares, and embodied exploration.

The theme of this workshop is INTUITION: What is it, how we find it, what blocks it, and how we harness it in service of the life and experiences we want to cultivate.

Neha Deshmukh is a psychotherapist with specialized training in IFS (Internal Family Systems), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational Somatic Healing (RSH), and working within LGBTQ+ communities. Neha's work experience encompasses direct practice in hospitals, schools, community mental health centers, and private practice in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. Neha is a dancer and artist whose exhibition GIRL YOU ARE RICH, EVEN WITH NOTHING is currently on view at Michelle Thomas Fine Art Gallery + Studio.

Ishita Mili is a Bengali American director and choreographer based in New Jersey. After extensive study of dance styles including Bharatnatyam, house, hip hop, and Mayurbanj Chau, Ishita began creating and directing as a holistic multidisciplinary artist. In 2017, Ishita founded IMGE Dance as a performance company based in film, and music, and dance, using mixed cultural roots to share global stories by artists of diverse backgrounds. The values that Ishita promotes through their work include Imagining the universe we want to live in through movement, Unraveling formulated tradition back to the true hybridization that forms everything we do and experience, Navigating cyclic existences and layered identities, Building connections between communities, and Confronting what we think we [don't] know about ourselves and the world.
